Seven Stars Legal Limited is an investment company that focuses on achieving market-leading returns within the UK legal services sector, specifically in litigation cost financing and litigation case generation.

Senior Secured and Asset Backed via Security Trustee.

The UK legal sector is recognised as one of the strongest globally. However, the high costs involved in taking legal action have led to significant growth in litigation funding.

According to the Legal Services Board (2024):

Litigation funding plays an essential role in access to justice, allowing law firms to take on cases that would otherwise be unviable.

It has become a key resource for large-scale class actions, especially in situations of corporate malpractice or negligence.

The British market stands out for the ease with which law firms can access financing, without the need to belong to additional regulatory bodies.

In addition, the growing number of cases with legal precedents and government compensation schemes have generated an increasing demand for financing solutions.

Fast growth:The litigation financing market in the UK has quadrupled since 2013, showing a big jump in interest from institutional investors and private funds. This Asset Class is uncorrelated to all other investment assets allowing professional investors to diversify their portfolios.

Security and risk mitigation

  • Security trustee with primary legal responsibility for 7S's assets. Verdant Trustee
  • Receiving agent (regulated by the FCA) receives capital from investors and ensures that it is only used to fund litigation cases and not to cover other operating costs of the company. Avenir & GC Partners.
  • S7 has a first legal charge over the company's shares/law firms to back the loans.
  • S7 has the first legal charge on individual litigation cases, which allows them to assign litigation to another SRA-regulated solicitor if necessary.
  • When necessary, litigation case financing has ATE insurance to protect the financing in the event that the litigation case is lost.

Business Model

Seven Stars Legal's strategy focuses on financing smaller claims based on precedents set by individual claimants, which allows for lucrative returns with less risk compared to class actions. The company finances legal and associated fees in exchange for a share of the profits or, where applicable, a fixed-rate loan.

The money raised is used to lend to regulated law firms or regulated marketing companies that help those law firms acquire and advance appropriate cases to a successful settlement or court decision.

Unlike many litigation funders who tend to focus exclusively on high-value, high-risk class actions, which involve significant and escalating costs, this strategy targets the opposite end of the market. It invests in smaller, precedent-based cases against solvent defendants, enabling it to fund cases at a fixed cost and generate stable, lucrative returns for investors.

Precedent-based cases require courts to apply the law uniformly in all disputes involving the same material facts. This feature makes outcomes predictable, which promotes efficient resolution and reduces legal uncertainty.

Investment Opportunity for Qualified and Professional Investors

Seven Stars Legal Limited is raising £3,500,000 to finance legal claims related to PCP (Personal Contract Purchase) Car Finance agreements in the UK for a specific SRA regulated solicitor firm that they have worked with over the last 4 years.

Seven Stars Legal Limited offers a Joint Venture with Profit Share option for HNWI investors.
